At MAEDA Japan Consulting, we are committed to fostering strong connections between Uzbekistan and Japan. At the heart of this mission is our co-founder, Maeda Kimiko, whose rich and diverse background has uniquely prepared her for this role.

Early Life and Education

Maeda Kimiko was born in 1997 in the scenic Nagasaki Prefecture of Japan. Her early education was shaped at a private all-girls boarding high school, where she developed a strong foundation in academics and cultural understanding. In 2015, Kimiko embarked on a transformative journey to Chile as an exchange student. During her year abroad, she lived with a host family, mastered the Spanish language, and immersed herself deeply in Chilean culture. This experience ignited her passion for international relations and cultural exchange.

Academic Excellence and Global Exposure

In the spring of 2017, Kimiko began her undergraduate studies at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Oita Prefecture. APU is renowned for its global outlook, with half of its 6,000 students hailing from 90 different countries and the other half from across Japan. The university offers classes in both English and Japanese, providing a truly bilingual and multicultural environment.

Kimiko majored in International Business Management, where she excelled academically and interacted with peers from diverse backgrounds. This exposure broadened her understanding of global cultures and international relations, skills that would become invaluable in her professional life.

Professional Journey and Vision

After graduating, Kimiko gained practical experience by working in the City Government for two years, followed by a role at an international apparel production company. Her professional journey further honed her skills in business management and cross-cultural communication.

In May 2024, Kimiko moved to Uzbekistan with her husband, Islomov Khasanboy. She was inspired by the dedication of Uzbekistan youth to their studies, particularly in English and other subjects. However, she noticed a gap in awareness about educational opportunities in Japan, including information about universities offering English-taught programs, application procedures, and scholarship opportunities.

Founding MAEDA Japan Consulting

Recognizing these challenges, Kimiko co-founded MAEDA Japan Consulting with the aim of bridging the gap between Uzbekistan and Japan. Her vision extends beyond education to include workforce development and organizational partnerships. Kimiko observed that many Uzbekistani companies and organizations tend to partner with entities in Central Asia or Europe, often overlooking Japan. Through MAEDA Japan Consulting, she seeks to change this narrative by fostering meaningful connections and collaboration

Building Bridges and Creating Opportunities

At MAEDA Japan Consulting, Kimiko is dedicated to helping young Uzbekistani students access quality education in Japan. The company provides comprehensive information about Japanese universities, assists with application procedures, and helps secure scholarships to reduce financial barriers. Additionally, Kimiko and her team work to establish partnerships between universities and language schools in both countries, facilitating student exchanges and dual degree programs.

Beyond education, MAEDA Japan Consulting also supports companies in finding business partners and exploring market opportunities. The goal is to create a thriving ecosystem of collaboration between Uzbekistan and Japan, benefiting both nations.
